What Madras terrace roof is

After the bricks are completely set, a 10 cm thick layer of brick-built concrete is laid during bricklaying. It is beaten with wooden hand beaters up to 7.5 cm. The beating is continued until the beater fails to make an impression on the surface of the roof.
Two layers of flat tiles (15 × 10 × 1.2 cm) are laid in 1:1.5 lime mortar on concrete layer.
Finally, three coats of lime plaster are applied to the surface and rubbed into the polished surface. Generally a roof slope of 1:36 is provided by sloping the joists and not by increasing the thickness of the terracing.
