It is a reliable, convenient, highly accurate and easy-to-use instrument used for most surveying tasks including engineering and mining applications. It is equipped with magnetically damped vertical circle compensation for fast and accurate zenith angle compensation. The provided optical plummet makes it easy to center the instrument on the survey point with the help of a shifting tribrach. A coincident image projection is used to read the horizontal and vertical scales and thus eliminates the possibility of any error in the reading. Readings can be read directly by looking through a micrometer eyepiece, which is illuminated by reflectors.
This tool can be used in conjunction with EDM.
