They are used for roofs of workshops, factories and temporary sheds. GI sheets are available in different sizes. 22 gauge sheets are commonly used. An end lap of 15 cm and a side lap of two corrugations are provided while fixing the GI sheets at the top of the roof. It is light and easy to fix. The only disadvantage of using these sheets to cover the roof is that the rooms under the roof are overheated during the summer season. For sun protection, a layer of ordinary tiles is sometimes provided over the GI sheeting.
