Water treatment & supply

Engineers and scientists work to secure water supplies for potable and agricultural use. They assess the water balance within a watershed and determine the available supply of water, the water required for different needs in that watershed and the seasonal cycle of water movement through the watershed, and allocate water for different uses. Develop systems for storage, treatment and delivery. Water is treated to achieve water quality objectives for end use. In the case of drinking water supplies, the water is treated to minimize contamination.the risk of infectious disease transmittal and the risk of non-infectious illness, and to create a palatable water flavour. Water distribution systems are designed and built to provide adequate water pressure and flow rates to meet various end-user needs such as domestic use, fire suppression and irrigation.
