Roof lean

It is the simplest type of pitched roof and has rafters that slope in only one direction. Generally, it is used to cover the verandah of the building and projects from the main wall of the building. At the upper ends the rafters are nailed to the wooden wall plates, which are placed on the central wall corbels. The lower

ends of the rafters are pointed and nailed to wooden post plates. A post plate is a section of wood, running parallel to the wall and supported on intermediate columns or posts. The battens are placed and fixed over the rafters and finally covered with suitable roofing material. It is suitable for spreading up to 2.5 m.
