A dryer absorbs oxygen from the air and transfers it to the vehicle, causing it to harden. Driers can be in the form of either soluble drier or paste drier. Soluble desiccants are compounds of cobalt, lead, manganese, etc. that are dissolved in linseed oil or some other volatile liquid. Paste dryers are compounds of the same metal.
