Keywords Everywhere is a great free Google Chrome or Firefox plugin. After installing it, you will see search volume, cost per click (CPC) and competition data on the browser bar. You can get your own free API (Application Program Interface), which makes the operation more reliable.
As you begin your affiliate marketing efforts, you can easily save your favorite keywords and retrieve them for future analysis by clicking the Favorites button on each keyword icon after selecting them. can get You can sort or export keywords in the format you want, perhaps importing them into another program. (See Chapter 6 for an introduction to keyword analysis.)
The bulk import facility has been disabled as automated bots abused it and submitted thousands of queries per minute. Now if you want to be able to import keyword lists (and other features), you need to upgrade to the paid version called Keyword Keg. SpyFu allows you to spy on your competitors. You can see what keywords your competitors rank for and what they do to promote their keywords and site. This information allows you to learn from their successes and their failures.
You get a great boost when you can learn from the best in your niche. You can capitalize on their successes and avoid the time and expense of their failures. This is especially useful for new affiliate marketers who may not be sure what the best topic, best keywords, etc. are. (Chapter 8 has more information on analyzing the competition for affiliate marketing.)
Blog Ideas Generator
Your affiliate marketing success is directly dependent on your ability to produce a consistent stream of valuable, engaging and interesting content in the form of articles, posts and pages. We all have periods where we just seem to run dry of new ideas. HubSpot’s blog ideas generator allows you to add up to five words from which it generates a list of blog topic ideas. If you give it some information, it can generate blog topic ideas for a year. You can download this list to your computer for further use and analysis. The blog topic idea lists you create are great seed lists for generating your own ideas as well.
As with most free tools, the intent is to entice you to use the paid version. However, you can still enter your information on the website and create a listing. If you want more, you pay.
Market Samurai.
Market Samurai is the first tool that I (author Ted) started using to develop my affiliate marketing business and other websites. This is the Swiss Army Knife of affiliate marketing tools, allowing you to do many different marketing analyses, and we talk about it in Chapters 6 and 8.
However, the free version is actually a 30-day trial. The keyword research tool portion of Market Samurai is free and will remain fully functional after a trial period. But after the 30-day trial ends, other functions, such as SEO competition, domain search, content discovery, monetization, promotion, and content publishing, no longer work. A 30-day trial can give you a better idea of the full version’s power and whether or not it’s right for you.
