Setting up level

This operation also involves fixing the instrument on a tripod and approximately leveling the instrument by adjusting the legs. The configuration can be completed according to the following steps.

Step 1 The tripod is unfolded and set on the ground by placing it under the metal spiked legs so that it is straight and firm so that the surface is easy for the observer looking through the telescope.

Step 2 The box containing the surface is opened and the position of the surface in the box is noted. If necessary, the edges of the box are marked so that the level in the box can be changed correctly.
Step 3 The level is set by screwing it onto the stand or screwing it into the slot of the tribrach.
Step 4 One hand is placed lightly on the telescope and the other hand is pressed against one leg, along the thigh, to avoid jolts and shocks, while the leg is moved backward to bring the bubble into the tube. is given tribrach to the center of its run, or to bring the bubble to the center of a circular level on the tribrach, if such a level is provided on it.
Step 5 The movement of the legs is now locked with the help of any suitable mechanism provided with the tripod.
