These stairs change their direction by 180°. It can be either ‘dog-legged’ or ‘open navel type’. In the case of dog-legged stairs, the flights are in opposite directions and no space is provided between the flights in the plan. Open staircases, on the other hand, have a well or opening between flights and can be used to house an elevator. These stairs are used in places where there is enough space available.
