Here’s a way to make money without anyone buying anything, or taking action, or clicking on anything … This is where you get paid on a cost-per-view (CPV) model. How it works?
Say you have a blog about pets and pet care. There is a merchant ad on your site. Say the ad is on the same page as your interesting post “How to trim your pet tarantula’s toenails.” Say the page has been viewed 850 times, and that the CPV rate is .005 cents per view. In this case, you would receive $4.25 (850 times the .005 rate) in revenue.
Okay fine. But considering you made this money with very little marketing effort on your part, that’s not too bad. The goal here is volume and traffic. The more people who visit and watch, the more money you’ll make overall – maybe enough to buy a vulture. For information about CPV platforms, see Chapter 13.
