Brick making is mostly a village industry. Since the dawn of civilization, bricks have been made by drying in the sun. The Great Wall of China was made of both burnt and sun-dried bricks. Bricks have been used in every class and type of building all over the world. In places where clay is available in abundance, brick work is cheaper. The cost of brick construction is low. Bricks resist fire and therefore do not crumble easily. Environmental impact is countered by good quality bricks.
